HMA Mandate

The Huron Manufacturing Association is a strong voice for manufacturing through the promotion of education, networking, and celebrating the achievements of our membership.

The Board of Directors of the HMA, volunteers from the Huron manufacturing community, meets monthly to plan activities such as business-to-business networking events and manufacturing bus tours for students. Working with the HMA Facilitator the board directs strategic initiatives such as those outlined in the Manufacturing Sector Strategic Plan (2016), The Huron County Economic Blueprint, launched in 2011 provides a roadmap for future strategic directions for manufacturing in Huron.

Whether big or small, products made in Huron County are world-class and are sold across the globe. In 2006, the HMA started the annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards to recognize achievements in areas such as innovation, encouraging youth participation, and corporate citizenship.

The HMA continues to develop its capacity to serve its members. While Huron’s companies may be small, collectively they are mighty. They know through experience how to overcome the disadvantage of scale through collaboration and networking. The efforts of the HMA ensure Huron’s manufacturing sector continues to be at the forefront of innovation and competitiveness based on the inherent expertise of its entrepreneurs and the skills of its workforce.

The HMA and Facilitator are currently creating the HMA Strategic Plan 2023.  We continue to support our membership and manufacturing in the following three pillars;

2. Networking
3. Celebrating
